My love for dogs started many years ago. I showed my first dog at the age of 13. In 1992 after I married, I started attending obedience competitions and started winning. In 1995 I caught the conformation bug, showing our German Shepherd dog but soon discovered this was a big a breed with big time competition and not a place for a rookie. In 1999 we brought home our first Redbone Coonhound, and for 17 years we have been breeding and competing in many events with AKC as well as UKC and International. We have AKC bred by champions of record and finished several others to multiple AKC & UKC titles and group placements as well as International Best In Show and Reserve Best in Show. In 2017 and 2019, We received the honor of being invited to the prestigious Westminster Dog show ranking in the top 3 both years for our breed "Redbone Coonhounds".
In 2016, realizing I was not getting any younger and my prior military injuries were not going to allow me to continue with the larger dogs as I aged, I made the tough decision that I wanted to go with a smaller breed. I continued to show our hounds while continuing to look for that perfect small breed for me. In 2017, I was at the Topeka, KS AKC show when I was introduced to the Russian Tsvetnaya Bolonka. I began to research the breed and fell in love. After talking to several breeders in the US and abroad I decided to go with an import. In 2018, I traveled to Minsk, Belarus and imported our first Russian Tsvetnaya Bolonka. Then early 2019, we again decided to go with an import and my husband, and I traveled to Kiev, Ukraine and brought back our boy.
My husband and I are dedicated to the conservation of the Russian Tsvetnaya Bolonka. It is our goal to provide healthy, happy companions for ourselves and others, while maintaining a level of integrity of a quality Bolonka that meet or exceed the AKC Breed Standard. And being responsible in our breeding program by Health Testing, Exhibiting in AKC Events and having only Bolonka living in our home.
